On Wednesday, 2nd of January 2008, I went skating with Zakiyah, Zakwan, Iman, Mc Azizah and Mum. To every one of us, skating is our first experience. I woke up early and about half past nine, we already outside at the bus stop waiting for Bus no. 44 or 66. Unfortunately, because it was New Year, the bus service was different. There a bus on every thirty minutes. I thought that I was going to be last for the skating, but we just arrived in time.
At ten o’clock in the morning we arrived at George Square in City Centre. We are the second group of people there. It was not very expensive (<£10) as we got our Kids and Young Scot Cards. Mum did not go skating with us because she wanted to take videos and pictures of us. We then went to the counter to exchange our shoes with the skating shoes. It was quite weird at first but when I thought about it, the shoes are just like the skiing shoes. It was fine when we were walking to the gate but when we stepped a foot on the ice, it was deadly slippery.
We had to hold on the gate to invent not to fall down. After an hour, I was the last to be able to balance on the ice. Others were very fast to adapt on the icy surface. At eleven, there were lots of people skating on the small area. I must look very stupid; only glided by the gate, inch by inch. But, I could not care less because I know that I could not risk myself from falling down, so, I just glided slowly by the gate, just in case if I ever slipped. It turned out that I was the only one who did not fall at all on that day.
At 12 o’clock in the afternoon, we had to go back home because we need to pray. At first, I wanted to skate more but there were too many good skaters on the ice ring. So, I went home with a very big smile. The feeling of just experienced skating on the ice ring in the winter especially after Christmas was just wonderful!

That was brilliant, ne? Kn bez klu kite boleh skate freely around with smiles on our, enjoying the soothing music...rather than, having knees knocked against the barriers, legs tied in a knot, hands in pain grasping the barriers. Hahahhahahahha. That was an exaggeration, it was really good!
