Tempahan Kuih Raya

Well, obviously that is in Malay. I tell you what it means; 'tempahan' is booking and 'kuih raya' is Eid cookies. It might be hard to just translate it word by word. Let me explains. When it comes to Eid time, Malaysian usually baked or ordered cookies, which is our tradition. In the past years, I never missed making 'kuih raya'. I guess, now I felt Eid is not complete without my mum's recipe on 'kuih raya'.
Because of this year, we are not here in Glasgow on Eid day, some people wanted my mum's 'kuih raya' and asked her to sell it. We usually never sell 'kuih raya'. We made lots and lots and different kinds and we would let the guests eat as much they want on Eid day. Well, this is year is a bit different. This year is business on 'kuih raya'. I only like 'kuih raya' called "Almond London". This 'kuih raya' is one of the expensive 'kuih raya' in Malaysia because of the chocolate. If I am cooking or baking, I only made the ones that I like. Sadly, "Almond London" is not very popular here in Glasgow. Only one person ordered hundered pieces of "Almond London". My mum is making the most wanted 'kuih raya' ever here which is called "Jam Tart". I do not like that because of the pineapple jam. Here are some pictures of "Almond London" that I have made.
Note that we run out of black casing for "Almond London" and I am not very good at pouring the chocolate. But the taste is all that matters!
