On the 7th March 2009, my school held a Sports Day. I did not participate in any of the sports which are all involved running. I also did not participate in the marching.
First, I tell you how Sports Day works in Malaysia. All students and teachers are divided into at least 4 teams which are known as ‘House (Rumah)’. At my school there are:
Red House – Maharaja
Blue House – Bendahara
Green House – Hulubalang
Yellow House – Kesatria
My mum and I are in the Kesatria House. My mum was involved at the decorating the ‘house’ tent. Teacher Liza, Teacher Nor Zalimah and my mum worked very hard to be the first at the ‘house decorations contest’. They came out with the idea to have a statue of Lion King at the front of the tent. This is where I came involve at decorating the house tent side by side with my mum. I have been asked to draw the lion.
I was shocked at first, but I was very excited when I found a very cool Lion King picture from the internet. I was finally able to draw and paint again. How I miss it all. The happiness when I sketched the lion with the pencil and rubber at my left hand, the mixture of the paint and the very careful brush strokes. I found the happiness that I have been longing to feel for ages since I left Shawlands Academy June 2008. I could still remember my art teachers told me to keep painting, and I did. Mak helped me at some bit. But the best of all, surprisingly, the lion turned out to be quite amazing. I was very thankful to God and my art teachers.
After all the hard work, our house, Kesatria came first at the ‘house decorations contest’. My mum and I were very happy.
Pictures? We do not have a camera at the moment. I am saving my school money to buy a camera but it will take a whole year to be able to buy one. Do not worry, My P.E teacher, Mrs Liza and my Physics Practical teacher, Miss Syuhada brought their own cameras. They lend me their cameras. Thank you very much to both of them. Thanks to them, I could improve the way I took photos.
